Our plug in solar kit is the simplest way to start generating your own electricity. Plug it into a standard 3-pin socket and it begins cutting your bill straight away. There's no scaffolding, no installer and no major investment. Supply only: the kit is designed for you to set up yourself.
In a south-facing, unshaded spot, this kit could generate around 900 kWh a year. That could save you about £178 a year at typical UK prices, based on using most of it at home. At £395, that's a payback period of under 3 years, roughly a 45% annual return, from a system that could last 25+ years. – Better than money in the bank!
Want a figure for your own home? Send us your postcode and annual kWh usage and we'll prepare a free short report with your likely payback period and recommendations.
Plug and play solar works best on the electricity your home uses all day, every day: fridges, freezers, WiFi, CCTV, computers and central heating pumps. So, it saves you money even when you're out at work. And because it plugs in rather than being fixed to the property, it comes with you when you move.

Plug in solar kits like this have been widely used across Germany and Europe for years. The system runs on low-voltage DC only, with no high-voltage DC cable runs through the house. The Hoymiles HF-800-WB microinverter is listed on the ENA Type Test Register (HOYMZ/18074/V1/A3), which makes the inverter UK compliant. If you wish to register your plug in solar kit we will send you details of how to do this.
• Do you install the kit? No. We are supply only. The kit is designed for straightforward DIY set-up.
• Do I need to tell my DNO? No, but you should register the kit https://myplugin.solar/
• Can I get paid for exported electricity? Plug in kits aren't designed for the SEG scheme. Very little is left over to export, and feed-in payments are unlikely to cover the cost of MCS registration.
• Will it work in winter? Yes, at lower output. Steepening the panels to about 50° helps.
• Can I take it with me if I move? Yes. It belongs to you, not the property.
